“The conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients, integrated with individual clinical expertise and patient values and preferences.”
This creates a three-legged stool:
- Best available research evidence (systematic reviews, RCTs, clinical practice guidelines)
- Clinical expertise (your professional judgment)
