About Me - Gary Jorgenson
I’m Gary Jorgenson, the sole proprietor of Careplans.com. My goal with this page is to be transparent about who I am and what
Careplans.com represents, so hopefully you can trust the platform as a resource for clinicians. I’m a registered nurse, a U.S. Marine veteran,
and a software developer with over 30 years of experience, and I’ve dedicated myself to building
tools that support nurses and clinicians in their work.
My Background
I served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1976 to 1980 as an Artillery Ballistic Meteorologist, learning discipline and problem-solving.
Afterward, I pursued nursing, earning an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Hocking College (1984–1987), where I served as
President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I worked in roles like staff nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of
Nursing at places like Americare Nursing & Rehab Center, focusing on client assessment and care planning. Right now, I’m studying for a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain University through online classes, holding a 4.0 GPA, to stay current in nursing practices.
In the 1990s, I moved into software development and served as Clinical Director of Information Systems at NCS Healthcare, managing
technology partnerships and software projects. In 1997, I founded Robin Technologies (Robintek),
and until 2016, I led projects like building the first online education platform for the American Association of Nurse Assessment
Coordinators (AANAC), now the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN), managing their first set of web applications for 14 years.
In 2016, I passed Robintek to my two sons to focus on software development. After a stroke in 2020, I left Robintek and subsquently acquired Careplans.com,
which I originally built in 1998 as my first website. I formed Careplans LLC as a new entity to continue supporting clinicians.
On a personal note, I’ve played drums since I was 12, performing semi-professionally until my stroke in 2020. I played on the Mark May Band’s
album Blues Heaven (2016), which reached #6 on Billboard’s Blues chart. Music has been a source of balance in my life, alongside
my work in healthcare and technology.
About Careplans.com
Careplans.com has been active since 1998, when I created it as a resource for clinicians. It was managed by Robintek until I took it
over recently to focus on providing evidence-based care plans and EHR tools for all areas of healthcare.
As a sole proprietor, I handle every aspect of the site, from development to updates, ensuring it meets the needs of
nurses and clinicians. The platform is built with security in mind, adhering to HIPAA standards to protect your data.
I’m committed to keeping Careplans.com a reliable tool, regularly updating it based on feedback and industry changes.
My aim isn’t to scale big but to offer practical, trustworthy resources that help clinicians improve client outcomes.
Why Transparency Matters
I know trust is critical in healthcare, and I want you to feel confident using Careplans.com. As a disabled veteran and stroke
survivor, I value honesty and resilience, and I bring those principles to this work. By sharing who I am—a nurse,
developer, and person with a long history in this field—I hope to show that Careplans.com is a genuine effort to support
your work. If you have questions or ideas, I’m here to listen and respond.
