Careplans.com Navigation Guide
This is a short demonstration of how to navigate the careplans.com website.
On the top left corner of the page is the careplans.com logo. From anywhere on the website, if you click on this, the system will navigate back to the home page.
On the top of the page, just right of the logo, is an icon for collapsing or expanding the side bar. When the side bar is visible, clicking this icon with the mouse cursor will collapse the side bar to a slim vertical bar showing the cat logo icon and possibly other icons. When it is collapsed, moving the mouse cursor over the slim vertical bar will expand it to make options visible. When the mouse cursor moves back off the bar, it will collapse again.
To pin the side bar to always be open, move the mouse over the collapsed side bar, then click the blue icon next to the logo. This will set the side bar to remain open.
If the screen width is less than 1200 pixels wide, the side bar will automatically be hidden. On mobile devices such as phones or tablets, the screen will adjust accordingly. If the side menu is hidden due to screen width, an icon of three lines appears on the top left corner of the screen. This is often called the “hamburger menu”. Click this icon with the mouse cursor or tap it on a mobile device to make the side menu bar appear. Click or tap on the X icon to make the left panel hidden again.
Along the left-hand side are menu navigation options along with various widgets. The menu options change as appropriate with the page and also depend on various permissions set for the user.
Below menu options are links to our social media pages.
Next is a widget showing the top 15 most frequently searched care plan terms. On the care plan library page, when a search is executed, the system logs the last date and time it was searched for and keeps track of the number of times that term has been searched for.
Last on the left side bar is “contact us” information and a link to the contact page.
Back on the page top, in the center area, is the top menu navigation bar. On the left-most area of the bar by default is an icon that resembles the sun. This is a quick setting for light or dark mode. Clicking on this option with the mouse cursor or tapping when on mobile devices will extend a drop-down menu with light, dark, or system settings.
On the right side of the top menu bar is another link for returning to “Home Page”. Next is an “About” link to a page about the system designer and principal developer, Gary Jorgenson, RN. The third option for “Login” allows the visitor to enter login credentials for access to member-only features of the website.
When a user is logged in, the top right side of the page will show the member name, account name the member is linked to, and an avatar icon or optional graphic image of the member. If the avatar image is clicked with the mouse cursor or tapped when on a mobile device, a drop-down menu will appear showing links for “My Account”, “My Profile” or to “Log Out”.
Note that when a member joins, the system creates a member record, and an account record. Careplans.com is designed in such a way that an account could have many members, a member could have many accounts, or both.
At the bottom of each page is the footer section. This has links for our Privacy Policy, Our Philosophy and various other links. It also shows a physical mailing address.
